Music @ HCS

Horizon Creative Studio aims to help students of all ages expand their musical knowledge. Instructor KJ Bell uses private lessons, group classes, and workshops to help students expand their knowledge of musical technique and expression.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are a great way to expand one's musical knowledge. Whether looking for specific help for an audition, assistance with a unique technical problem, or a simple desire to expand musical capability through the study of an instrument, private instruction can be one of the best ways to learn. Horizon offers instruction in violin, viola, and voice at all levels, as well as beginning piano and cello. Private instruction in music theory and/or history is also an option that can supplement study of any instrument. Lessons are offered in person to students in the Los Angeles area or online nationwide. Click here for more information or click here to book a lesson.

Group Classes

Horizon offers group classes as well as private instruction. Group classes take two forms:

  1. Group Lessons - Structured similarly to private lessons. Participants sign up for a regular, group time slot. These lessons are great for students who wish to receive musical instruction but are hesitant to take a private lesson, either due to cost or lack of confidence in abilities. These lessons are kept small, from 2-10 participants.
  2. Group Classes - Unlike group lessons, these classes have a set time frame and focus. Frequent classes include Beginning Vocal Technique (four sessions), Learn to Read Music in Four Sessions, and other such topics. Classes can take place both in person and online.
